We're excited to announce our new name: Stables. Our new logo, featuring three coins, symbolises our commitment to stablecoins. This rebranding reflects our focus and the value we want to bring to our users.

Alpha mobile app is imminent📱

We're thrilled to announce the alpha launch of our mobile app on both iOS and Android! Following the launch of our web app, we received a lot of positive feedback from our users and high demand for mobile compatibility. So starting early February, Australians will be able to download our app from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, with many more countries coming soon.

With this version of the app, you'll be able to:

• Buy USDC with AUD (more fiat pairs coming soon)
• Sell USDC for AUD  (more fiat pairs coming soon)
• Fund your account with USDC, USDT and BUSD on the Ethereum network (more networks coming soon!)
• Send USDC to your friends and family
• Be part of our exclusive OG squad!

‍Stablecoin-powered cards are coming 💳

We’re thrilled to announce that the backend work for card payments has been completed 🥳 Our focus over the next 3 months will be on card payments, which we’ll incorporate into our beta launch. Our stablecoin-powered card will be rolled out in two phases:

• The first release will enable online payments (think Amazon shopping),
• The second release will allow in-store purchases through Google Pay and Apple Wallet.

Initially, the card will be available to residents of Australia, but we’ll be bringing it to as many countries as possible. If you’re outside of Australia and would like to get the card sooner, let us know which country you think we should roll out to next.

🌎 Crypto headlines in January

Damus, new decentralised social networking app, arrives to take on Twitter. Jack Dorsey donated $245,000 in Bitcoin to fund the development of Nostr, a decentralized social networking protocol. The first mobile app to use the protocol, Damus, has been released on the App Store.

Elon Musk wants to incorporate cryptocurrencies in Twitter’s payments system. Twitter is designing a payments system. While fiat services will be first supported, Elon wants the ability to add cryptocurrencies later.

ImmutableX launches All-In-One passport system to onboard more games into Web3. The new tool, scheduled to launch in April 2023, will act as a non-custodial wallet, gamer profile and authentication solution for Web3 gamers.

Amazon NFT initiative is coming soon. Amazon is launching a digital assets enterprise and an NFT initiative is expected in the spring.
